Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calanques, Near Marseilles by Winston Churchill was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2018. The price achieved of GBP 137,500.00 (€ 155,095.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Winston Churchill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tower Of The Koutoubia Mosque in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 8,285,000.00 (€ 9,732,740.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calanques, Near Marseilles von Winston Churchill kam im November 2018 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 137.500,00 (€ 155.095,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Winston Churchill erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tower Of The Koutoubia Mosque im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.285.000,00 (€ 9.732.740,78).
