Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calanques, Near Marseilles by Winston Churchill was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2018. The price achieved of GBP 137,500.00 (€ 155,095.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Winston Churchill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tower Of The Koutoubia Mosque in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 8,285,000.00 (€ 9,732,740.78).
