Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait of Benjamin Goldsmid (c.1753-1808), half-length, in a brown coat with a black collar by William Beechey was sold in the The Collection of the late Lord and Lady Swaythling auction at Christies in London in May last year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 5,292.00 (€ 6,225.53). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Beechey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dashwood Children in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 821,000.00 (€ 608,148.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Benjamin Goldsmid (c.1753-1808), half-length, in a brown coat with a black collar von William Beechey wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Collection of the late Lord and Lady Swaythling bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 5.292,00 (€ 6.225,53) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Beechey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Dashwood Children im Januar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 821.000,00 (€ 608.148,15).
