Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of Mrs. Lennox, afterwards Lady Ashley, full-length, in a landscape by William Beechey for USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,197.54). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings and Sculpture at Christies and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Beechey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dashwood Children in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 821,000.00 (€ 608,148.15).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of Mrs. Lennox, afterwards Lady Ashley, full-length, in a landscape von William Beechey für USD 10.625,00 (€ 9.197,54) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture bei Christies erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Beechey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Dashwood Children im Januar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 821.000,00 (€ 608.148,15).
