This artwork by William Beechey achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in April 2016. In the Old Master and British Paintings auction, the work Portrait Of King George Iii (1738-1820), Three-Quarter-Length, In Field Marshal'S Uniform, With The Star Of The Order Of The Garter, With Windsor Castle Beyond sold for GBP 43,750.00 (€ 55,925.51) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Beechey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dashwood Children in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 821,000.00 (€ 608,148.15).
In der Auktion Old Master and British Paintings wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of King George Iii (1738-1820), Three-Quarter-Length, In Field Marshal'S Uniform, With The Star Of The Order Of The Garter, With Windsor Castle Beyond für GBP 43.750,00 (€ 55.925,51) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00.
