Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of Charles Marsham, 1St Earl Of Romney (1744-1811), Full-Length by William Beechey was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2020. The price achieved of GBP 12,600.00 (€ 13,893.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Beechey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dashwood Children in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 821,000.00 (€ 608,148.15).
