This artwork by Peter Paul Rubens achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2019. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work Nude Study Of A Young Man With Raised Arms sold for USD 8,202,000.00 (€ 7,160,817.18) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Peter Paul Rubens have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lot and his Daughters in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 44,882,500.00 (€ 53,330,119.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Peter Paul Rubens erzielte im Januar 2019 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Drawings wurde die Arbeit Nude Study Of A Young Man With Raised Arms für USD 8.202.000,00 (€ 7.160.817,18) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.500.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter Paul Rubens auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lot and his Daughters im Juli 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 44.882.500,00 (€ 53.330.119,54).
