In December 2017 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Prints, which included the work Saint Catherine by Peter Paul Rubens. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 5,250.00 (€ 5,908.11), 50% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Paul Rubens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lot and his Daughters in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 44,882,500.00 (€ 53,330,119.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit Saint Catherine von Peter Paul Rubens zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 5.250,00 (€ 5.908,11) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Paul Rubens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lot and his Daughters im Juli 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 44.882.500,00 (€ 53.330.119,54).
