Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work Head Of A Young Man Wearing Armour by Peter Paul Rubens. The price achieved of GBP 3,135,000.00 (€ 3,442,021.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500,000.00 – 3,500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Paul Rubens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lot and his Daughters in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 44,882,500.00 (€ 53,330,119.54).
