Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of George Augustus Frederick Lake, standing three-quarter-length in a black coat and white stock, his left arm resting on a stone pedestal, with a dog in a landscape by Nathaniel Dance-Holland was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Christies in New York in October 2007. The price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 11,231.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nathaniel Dance-Holland achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Thomas Assheton-Smith (1752-1828), full-length, in a red jacket in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 400,000.00 (€ 469,082.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of George Augustus Frederick Lake, standing three-quarter-length in a black coat and white stock, his left arm resting on a stone pedestal, with a dog in a landscape von Nathaniel Dance-Holland wurde im Oktober 2007 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Christies in New York versteigert.
