Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The family of Sir George Elliot in Rome, a view of Saint Peter's beyond by Nathaniel Dance-Holland was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2019. The price achieved of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 68,620.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Nathaniel Dance-Holland have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Thomas Assheton-Smith (1752-1828), full-length, in a red jacket in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 400,000.00 (€ 469,082.94).

Die Arbeit The family of Sir George Elliot in Rome, a view of Saint Peter's beyond von Nathaniel Dance-Holland kam im Juli 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 62.500,00 (€ 68.620,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 50.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nathaniel Dance-Holland auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Thomas Assheton-Smith (1752-1828), full-length, in a red jacket im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 400.000,00 (€ 469.082,94).
