The work Portrait of Jane Cressett Pelham (1740-1820), née Hardinge, half-length, in a pink gown with a landscape beyond by Nathaniel Dance-Holland was sold in the Old Masters auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 22,680.00 (€ 21,287.78), 51% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nathaniel Dance-Holland achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Thomas Assheton-Smith (1752-1828), full-length, in a red jacket in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 400,000.00 (€ 469,082.94).

Die Arbeit Portrait of Jane Cressett Pelham (1740-1820), née Hardinge, half-length, in a pink gown with a landscape beyond von Nathaniel Dance-Holland wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Old Masters bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 22.680,00 (€ 21.287,78) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nathaniel Dance-Holland erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Thomas Assheton-Smith (1752-1828), full-length, in a red jacket im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 400.000,00 (€ 469.082,94).
