Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2014 Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Flowers In A Jug by Matthew Smith. The price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,264.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matthew Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Connie Martin in January 2020 with an auction result of GBP 212,500.00 (€ 252,766.38).
