Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Bonhams held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Portrait Of Miss U by Lawrence Gowing. The price achieved of GBP 2,550.00 (€ 2,901.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Lawrence Gowing have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Self portrait in Oakleigh Avenue in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 11,950.00 (€ 17,154.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of Miss U von Lawrence Gowing zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.550,00 (€ 2.901,12) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lawrence Gowing auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Self portrait in Oakleigh Avenue im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.950,00 (€ 17.154,40).
