In October 2011 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Trees on Hamdown by Lawrence Gowing. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,182.60), 53% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Lawrence Gowing have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Self portrait in Oakleigh Avenue in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 11,950.00 (€ 17,154.40).

Im Oktober 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Trees on Hamdown von Lawrence Gowing zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.182,60) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lawrence Gowing auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Self portrait in Oakleigh Avenue im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.950,00 (€ 17.154,40).
