Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shadow of Pine Tree; Study I by Lawrence Gowing was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Christies in London in June 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25.00 – 200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 58.75 (€ 93.13) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lawrence Gowing achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self portrait in Oakleigh Avenue in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 11,950.00 (€ 17,154.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Shadow of Pine Tree; Study I von Lawrence Gowing wurde im Juni 2000 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 25,00 – 200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 58,75 (€ 93,13) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lawrence Gowing erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Self portrait in Oakleigh Avenue im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.950,00 (€ 17.154,40).
