Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work Vase of autumnal flowers by Lawrence Gowing for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,592.16). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century British Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lawrence Gowing achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self portrait in Oakleigh Avenue in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 11,950.00 (€ 17,154.40).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2012 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Vase of autumnal flowers von Lawrence Gowing für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.592,16) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lawrence Gowing erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Self portrait in Oakleigh Avenue im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.950,00 (€ 17.154,40).
