Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Frank Bowling achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2020. In the Modern & Post-War British Art auction, the work Smolts sold for GBP 75,600.00 (€ 84,395.11) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frank Bowling have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Beggar No. 3 in June 2019 with an auction result of GBP 695,250.00 (€ 781,564.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Frank Bowling erzielte im November 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art wurde die Arbeit Smolts für GBP 75.600,00 (€ 84.395,11) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Bowling auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Beggar No. 3 im Juni 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 695.250,00 (€ 781.564,11).
