The work Railway Line by the Falls by Simon Palmer was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in July this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,200.00 (€ 3,733.43), 60% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Simon Palmer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Harvesting Snow in March 2017 with an auction result of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 24,902.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Railway Line by the Falls von Simon Palmer wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.200,00 (€ 3.733,43) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Simon Palmer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Harvesting Snow im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 24.902,90).
