In July this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Mid July Heatwave by Simon Palmer. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,560.00 (€ 2,986.74), 42% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Simon Palmer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Harvesting Snow in March 2017 with an auction result of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 24,902.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 42 % übertroffen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mid July Heatwave von Simon Palmer zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.560,00 (€ 2.986,74) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Simon Palmer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Harvesting Snow im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 24.902,90).
