Auction result well in line with expectations

In June 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Taygete The Pleiad by Simon Casson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,438.00 (€ 2,642.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Simon Casson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Without Liberation Or Myrtle - Boughs, which sold at auction in December 2007 for GBP 4,500.00 (€ 6,114.74).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Juni 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Taygete The Pleiad von Simon Casson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.438,00 (€ 2.642,58) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Simon Casson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Without Liberation Or Myrtle - Boughs beobachtet, die im Dezember 2007 für GBP 4.500,00 (€ 6.114,74) versteigert wurde.
