Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2006 Christies in New York held the auction MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY INDIAN ART, which included this untitled work by Shyamal Dutta Ray. The price achieved of USD 12,000.00 (€ 9,885.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shyamal Dutta Ray - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in September 2008 for USD 35,000.00 (€ 24,856.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY INDIAN ART durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Shyamal Dutta Ray zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.000,00 (€ 9.885,49) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Shyamal Dutta Ray mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im September 2008 für USD 35.000,00 (€ 24.856,19) versteigert wurde.
