This artwork by Shyamal Dutta Ray achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2006. In the Modern and Contemporary Indian Art auction, the work without title sold for USD 12,000.00 (€ 9,458.50) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shyamal Dutta Ray - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in September 2008 for USD 35,000.00 (€ 24,856.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shyamal Dutta Ray erzielte im September 2006 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Indian Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 12.000,00 (€ 9.458,50) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Shyamal Dutta Ray mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im September 2008 für USD 35.000,00 (€ 24.856,19) versteigert wurde.
