Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2006 Christies in New York held the auction MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY INDIAN ART, which included the work Celebration by Shyamal Dutta Ray. The price achieved of USD 24,000.00 (€ 19,770.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Other works by Shyamal Dutta Ray have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2008 the work without title was auctioned for USD 35,000.00 (€ 24,856.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY INDIAN ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Celebration von Shyamal Dutta Ray zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 24.000,00 (€ 19.770,99) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Shyamal Dutta Ray konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im September 2008 die Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 35.000,00 (€ 24.856,19) versteigert.
