Auction result well in line with expectations
The work There is No Explosive in This by Shilpa Gupta was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in London in May 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,717.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shilpa Gupta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Someone Else: A Library of 35 Books Written Anonymously or Under Pseudonyms in September 2016 with an auction result of USD 47,500.00 (€ 42,267.31).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit There is No Explosive in This von Shilpa Gupta wurde im Mai 2009 in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.717,97) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shilpa Gupta erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Someone Else: A Library of 35 Books Written Anonymously or Under Pseudonyms im September 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 42.267,31).
