Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Modern and Contemporary Indian Art, which included this untitled work by Shibu Natesan. It changed hands for a price of USD 38,400.00 (€ 28,712.43) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by Shibu Natesan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Stand Alone in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 198,000.00 (€ 156,065.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Indian Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Shibu Natesan zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 38.400,00 (€ 28.712,43) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shibu Natesan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Stand Alone im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 198.000,00 (€ 156.065,26).
