Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Shibu Natesan was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,297.64). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shibu Natesan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Stand Alone in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 198,000.00 (€ 156,065.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Shibu Natesan im Mai 2007 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.600,00 (€ 5.297,64) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shibu Natesan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Stand Alone im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 198.000,00 (€ 156.065,26).
