Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Linkage - 1 by Shibu Natesan was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Indian Art auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 80,500.00 (€ 57,169.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shibu Natesan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Stand Alone, which sold at auction in September 2006 for USD 198,000.00 (€ 156,065.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Linkage - 1 von Shibu Natesan wurde im September 2008 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Indian Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 80.500,00 (€ 57.169,24) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Shibu Natesan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Stand Alone beobachtet, die im September 2006 für USD 198.000,00 (€ 156.065,26) versteigert wurde.
