Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Morning In The Heart, A Painting For Patrice Lumumba by Shibu Natesan was sold in the South Asian Art auction at Christies in Mumbai in December 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of INR 1,200,000.00 – 1,800,000.00, the actual price achieved of INR 1,250,000.00 (€ 14,696.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shibu Natesan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Stand Alone in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 198,000.00 (€ 156,065.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Morning In The Heart, A Painting For Patrice Lumumba von Shibu Natesan wurde im Dezember 2013 in der Auktion South Asian Art bei Christies in Mumbai versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von INR 1.200.000,00 – 1.800.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von INR 1.250.000,00 (€ 14.696,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shibu Natesan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Stand Alone im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 198.000,00 (€ 156.065,26).
