This artwork by Shibu Natesan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2006. In the Modern and Contemporary Indian Art auction, the work Stand Alone sold for USD 198,000.00 (€ 156,065.26) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. This high result makes Stand Alone the most expensive artwork by Shibu Natesan that we have observed at auctions so far.
