Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2018 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Landscape in a Fine Day by Shen Shichong. It changed hands for a price of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 81,940.87) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shen Shichong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sailing through the Verdant Coast, which sold at auction in November 2010 for HKD 3,260,000.00 (€ 322,098.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape in a Fine Day von Shen Shichong zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 81.940,87) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 600.000,00 – 800.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Shen Shichong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sailing through the Verdant Coast beobachtet, die im November 2010 für HKD 3.260.000,00 (€ 322.098,80) versteigert wurde.
