Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Misty Landscape by Shen Shichong for USD 137,500.00 (€ 122,352.73). This price was achieved in the auction The Roy and Marilyn Papp Collection of Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shen Shichong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sailing through the Verdant Coast, which sold at auction in November 2010 for HKD 3,260,000.00 (€ 322,098.80).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Misty Landscape von Shen Shichong für USD 137.500,00 (€ 122.352,73) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Roy and Marilyn Papp Collection of Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Shen Shichong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sailing through the Verdant Coast beobachtet, die im November 2010 für HKD 3.260.000,00 (€ 322.098,80) versteigert wurde.
