Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Cvii (Common Men Series) by Serge Attukwei Clottey was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 500.00 (€ 453.35). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Serge Attukwei Clottey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fashion icons in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 340,200.00 (€ 403,045.12).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Cvii (Common Men Series) von Serge Attukwei Clottey im März 2020 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 500,00 (€ 453,35) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Serge Attukwei Clottey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fashion icons im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 340.200,00 (€ 403.045,12).
