In October 2011 Phillips in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Man in Sheepskin Jacket by Sean Henry. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,956.50), 38% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sean Henry - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Way It Will Be, which sold at auction in October 2021 for GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,694.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2011 führte Phillips in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Man in Sheepskin Jacket von Sean Henry zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.956,50) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Sean Henry mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Way It Will Be beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für GBP 20.000,00 (€ 23.694,60) versteigert wurde.
