Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sic Transit Gloria Mundi by Sean Henry was auctioned at Phillips in London in October 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 15,735.94). Other works by Sean Henry have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2021 by the work The Way It Will Be at GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,694.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sic Transit Gloria Mundi von Sean Henry im Oktober 2015 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 11.250,00 (€ 15.735,94) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Sean Henry wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober 2021 die Arbeit The Way It Will Be mit GBP 20.000,00 (€ 23.694,60).
