Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Red Umbrella by Saul Leiter was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in London in November 2021. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 8,190.00 (€ 9,615.83). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Saul Leiter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Snow, which sold at auction in May 2021 for GBP 18,900.00 (€ 21,990.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Red Umbrella von Saul Leiter wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 8.190,00 (€ 9.615,83) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Saul Leiter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Snow beobachtet, die im Mai 2021 für GBP 18.900,00 (€ 21.990,59) versteigert wurde.
