Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Lanesville by Saul Leiter was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April last year. It achieved a price of USD 8,190.00 (€ 7,772.61), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Saul Leiter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Snow, which sold at auction in May 2021 for GBP 18,900.00 (€ 21,990.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Lanesville von Saul Leiter kam im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 8.190,00 (€ 7.772,61) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Für andere Arbeiten von Saul Leiter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Snow beobachtet, die im Mai 2021 für GBP 18.900,00 (€ 21.990,59) versteigert wurde.
