Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Saul Fletcher was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 937.50 (€ 1,088.96). Admittedly, works by Saul Fletcher have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled #142 (Landscapes) in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 6,300.00 (€ 5,409.12).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Saul Fletcher im Februar 2013 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 937,50 (€ 1.088,96) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Saul Fletcher auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled #142 (Landscapes) im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.300,00 (€ 5.409,12).
