It achieved a price of USD 10,080.00 (€ 8,725.76), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 68%. Admittedly, works by Sarah Grilo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mi Buenos Aires querido in March last year with an auction result of USD 60,480.00 (€ 54,520.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 68 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit El nieto von Sarah Grilo wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 10.080,00 (€ 8.725,76) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 68%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sarah Grilo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mi Buenos Aires querido im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.480,00 (€ 54.520,87).
