Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Continuum Red by Sara Vanderbeek was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,750.00 (€ 1,985.40). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sara Vanderbeek - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Athena, which sold at auction in March 2017 for USD 4,750.00 (€ 4,440.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Continuum Red von Sara Vanderbeek im September 2017 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.750,00 (€ 1.985,40) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Sara Vanderbeek mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Athena beobachtet, die im März 2017 für USD 4.750,00 (€ 4.440,08) versteigert wurde.
