Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Field-Glass by Sara Vanderbeek was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in December 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 510.00 (€ 450.61). Admittedly, works by Sara Vanderbeek have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Athena in March 2017 with an auction result of USD 4,750.00 (€ 4,440.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Field-Glass von Sara Vanderbeek im Dezember 2021 bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 510,00 (€ 450,61) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sara Vanderbeek auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Athena im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.750,00 (€ 4.440,08).
