Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2014 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century Chinese Art, which included this untitled work by Sang Huoyao. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 62,500.00 (€ 6,434.56) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Sang Huoyao have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Forbidden City in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 687,500.00 (€ 63,941.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2014 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century Chinese Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Sang Huoyao zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 62.500,00 (€ 6.434,56) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sang Huoyao auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Forbidden City im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 687.500,00 (€ 63.941,96).
