In October 2014 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century Chinese Art, which included the work Imperial City At Dawn by Sang Huoyao. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 187,500.00 (€ 19,303.67), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sang Huoyao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Forbidden City , which sold at auction in April 2014 for HKD 687,500.00 (€ 63,941.96).

Im Oktober 2014 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century Chinese Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Imperial City At Dawn von Sang Huoyao zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 187.500,00 (€ 19.303,67) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Sang Huoyao mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Forbidden City beobachtet, die im April 2014 für HKD 687.500,00 (€ 63.941,96) versteigert wurde.
