A top price for Sang Huoyao
This artwork by Sang Huoyao achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2014. In the 20th Century Chinese Art auction, the work Forbidden City sold for HKD 687,500.00 (€ 63,941.96) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 380,000.00. This high result makes Forbidden City the most expensive artwork by Sang Huoyao that we have observed at auctions so far.
