Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2009 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, European Sculpture & Antiquities, which included the work Vessels Becalmed Off The Coast by Samuel Scott. Here, the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 31,250.00 (€ 22,289.59). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Scott achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shipping At Anchor In The Thames Estuary, Near Wapping in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 473,000.00 (€ 562,026.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2009 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings, European Sculpture & Antiquities durch, in der auch die Arbeit Vessels Becalmed Off The Coast von Samuel Scott zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 31.250,00 (€ 22.289,59) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel Scott erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shipping At Anchor In The Thames Estuary, Near Wapping im Juli 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 473.000,00 (€ 562.026,33).
