Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work View Of Old London Bridge by Samuel Scott for GBP 137,500.00 (€ 153,428.89). This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters Day Sale at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 150,000.00 – 200,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Samuel Scott - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shipping At Anchor In The Thames Estuary, Near Wapping, which sold at auction in July 2016 for GBP 473,000.00 (€ 562,026.33).
