Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work The Battle Of Porto Bello by Samuel Scott for USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,009.09). This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters: Part II at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Scott achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shipping At Anchor In The Thames Estuary, Near Wapping in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 473,000.00 (€ 562,026.33).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Battle Of Porto Bello von Samuel Scott für USD 6.875,00 (€ 6.009,09) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Masters: Part II bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel Scott erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shipping At Anchor In The Thames Estuary, Near Wapping im Juli 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 473.000,00 (€ 562.026,33).
