In the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art auction, the work A large First Rate, thought to be the Royal William (formerly the Prince), lying at her anchorage, surrounded by other vessels and preparing to receive a distinguished - possibly Royal - visitor sold for GBP 31,250.00 (€ 37,131.76) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1 Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Scott achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shipping At Anchor In The Thames Estuary, Near Wapping in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 473,000.00 (€ 562,026.33).
