Upper estimate price exceeded by 35 %.

In November 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Rocky Shore, Iona by Samuel John Peploe. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 94,500.00 (€ 110,951.89), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel John Peploe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life with Tulips in June 2018 with an auction result of GBP 992,750.00 (€ 1,121,976.68).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen

Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rocky Shore, Iona von Samuel John Peploe zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 94.500,00 (€ 110.951,89) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel John Peploe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still Life with Tulips im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 992.750,00 (€ 1.121.976,68).
