In the Part I auction, the work Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Lady Hardinge sold for GBP 32,500.00 (€ 36,207.88) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Samuel Cooper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Gentleman Called John Campbell, Earl of Loudoun (1598-1663), In Gilt-Studded Armour, Large White Patterned Lawn Collar; Sky And Cloud Background, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 66,000.00 (€ 97,940.68).
