Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Gentleman, Circa 1665 by Samuel Cooper was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2019. It changed hands for a price of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,037.96) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Samuel Cooper have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Gentleman Called John Campbell, Earl of Loudoun (1598-1663), In Gilt-Studded Armour, Large White Patterned Lawn Collar; Sky And Cloud Background in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 66,000.00 (€ 97,940.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman, Circa 1665 von Samuel Cooper kam im Juli 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 11.875,00 (€ 13.037,96) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Samuel Cooper auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Gentleman Called John Campbell, Earl of Loudoun (1598-1663), In Gilt-Studded Armour, Large White Patterned Lawn Collar; Sky And Cloud Background im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 66.000,00 (€ 97.940,68).
